Formerly Adonix X3, Sage ERP X3 version 5 is the fifth major version of the leading ERP software for mid-sized enterprises brought by Adonix in 1999. It is being released in 2008 by the Sage Group in 35 countries. The system is represented in the United States by Adonix - a Sage company since 2005, dedicated to the North American ERP mid-market.

More importantly, the Business Process Designer enables access to all ERP functions following user-defined work procedures, avoiding long lists of menus and options and shortening the learning curve of the product dramatically. Also, the enhanced integration with Microsoft Office allows users to manipulate data in Word or Excel format within the context of the ERP software operations, the documents being safely stored in the ERP database as part of the enterprise core data. Sage ERP X3 also enables a two-way synchronization of contacts, calendars and tasks with Microsoft Outlook.

Version 5 introduces a Webtop interface for users, allowing them to monitor their key performance indicators and activity as well as to work with external services online or widgets and to display RSS feeds from various sources. Sage ERP X3 is fully Web Service compliant (XML, UDDI, WSDL, SOAP), which enables users to access and execute any services over a network, such as the Internet, as well as to create new collaborative applications with partners.
